The idea came to me from the poodles who live with me now. Bridgette, Ginger and Flame. Bridgette had been badly beaten and taken in by a local shelter. Her hips were completed dislocated and she needed surgery. Anyway, during her recovery she had a lot of stitches and she was shaved down to the skin so I bought this little dress for her... I had never planned on dressing my dogs. It was like eating potato chips... I couldn't stop... another dress, another sweater... then I began taking the girls to my local nursing home... more dresses and more sweaters... matching bows... then I wanted jewelry so I began to purchase charms for their collars and I thought wow I may not can sew a stitch but I can make a bow and I can make these charms... now let's see what kind of bow can I make? What is different, glitzy and durable? I had become a huge fan of and friends with Val Carter, she is the owner and proprieter of Val's Diva Do's. I have bought and will continue to buy her bows. She has her own style, very professional and very beautiful. ----------So I found my ONE thing - I call it the Party Bow - its the only bow that I make but its a GREAT bow! I have made these bows locally and now I sell them on Etsy as well. Next came the charms - I wanted something different - now let's see - what can a girl on a budget use that stands out from everything else? Can I recycle some of my old costume jewelry? Yes I can! Its beautiful! Wow. Not all of my little jewels are vintage, some are new pendants that I find that are broken or discontinued at a store and some are beads that I buy from other Etsians... all refashioned into jewelry for your pets. We donate our bows and charms to our local shelter fundraisers as well as our time and we continue to visit with the elderly in several nursing homes and assisted-living facilities.
